Junior Beta Club

 Beta Club is a national service-oriented organization that strives to develop citizenship and leadership qualities.  Currently, there are 56 fourth and fifth grade students in the BES Jr. Beta Club. This year's Beta Club teacher sponsors are Kim McGee, Lauren Stolfe, and Carly Mink.

Students are invited to join, and must meet the following criteria in order to be considered for Beta Club membership: 

1. Acceptable School Attendance Record.

2. Maintains Yearly Honor Roll.

3. Outstanding character and behavior record.

4. Teacher referral.

Throughout the year, our Beta Club students participate in various service projects to help our school and our community.  In the fall Beta Club members helped to box up the foods our students donated for the County Wide Food Drive, to help the less fortunate in our county.  In December, they are currently selling candy canes on Wednesdays and Fridays in order to help pay for students to attend the National Beta Club Conference next summer.

BES had 37  students who competed in the local Junior Beta Club Convention, which was held in Savannah on December 3rd, 2025.  The local convention is where students compete in different competitions ranging from visual and performing arts to academic competitions such as a speech contest and creative writing.  Students who win at the local convention move on to compete at the National Beta Club convention the following summer.  We had four students who placed in the local convention and they will go on to represent BES at the National Convention next summer. Congratulations to  Lillian Giordano for her 1st place Finish in the Drawing Competition;  Jackson Heath for his  4th place Finish in the Recycled Art Competition;  Luca Martino for his 4th place finish in Science Competition,  and to Bella Ren and Tahlia Young  for their 4th place Finish in the 2D Design Competition. We also wish to congratulate Charleigh Noyes, who won a golden ticket for her Premier Performance Dance. She will get to perform at the National Conference next Summer.    We love to see our Blue Jays Soar!!
