My Name is Erin Watson and I am the Counselor at Blandford Elementary School. I began at BES in August 2008. I love the students, the staff, and the BES spirit. I am honored to work in such an awesome school. I am always available to parents, teachers, and students. Please do not hesitate to contact me if there are any needs.
The School Guidance Curriculum consists of structured lessons designed to help students achieve the desired school counseling competencies and to provide all students with the knowledge and skills appropriate for their developmental level. In addition to these lessons, students receive lessons on careers, safety, and any other needs based on teacher requests. Students receive classroom guidance approximately once a month.
Individual counseling consists of prevention and/or intervention activities to meet students’ immediate and future needs to help them be successful at school. These needs can be necessitated by events and conditions in students’ lives and the school climate and culture.
Individual school counseling should not be confused with ongoing therapy. If a student should need more intense, on-going counseling, I will gladly share known community resources to receive that help. Students may be seen by their school counselor by student, parent, teacher, or administrative requests.
