Blandford is a Leader In Me Lighthouse School. We teach students the 7 Habits of Happy Kids from  Dr. Stephen Covey's book "The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People."  Our students have the opportunity to apply for over 15 different Leadership roles here at BES.  Some of these Student Leadership Teams include our Student Leadership Team, where Blue Jays show new students around our school and help them to feel welcome;  the Soaring High News Team, where Blue Jay students create and publish our school newspaper, and the Yearbook Committee, where students learn all about taking and editing photos for the school yearbook. These roles help students to become a part of their school and take pride in it.

Blandford Elementary takes pride in its parent involvement program. Parents are frequently found volunteering in the classroom,  in the media center, and in Book Fairs. Blandford’s PTO is very active and assists with coordinating the volunteer program and supporting school initiatives.

Blandford teachers understand the value of exposing students to the arts. Art projects are frequently displayed throughout the school. 

Blandford Elementary offers programs beyond the established Georgia Performance Standards. Students participate in the GAE Spelling Bee, Gifted Education, and Junior Beta Club. Grade level performances at PTO meetings include musicals, plays, and Ukulele concerts.
